AAC Team Raises Money for AIDS Walk Atlanta

A team representing the Atlanta Auburn Club participated in the 13th Annual AIDS Walk Atlanta on October 19, 2003, raising $1,335 for AID Atlanta plus 16 other agencies in the metro area that provide critical services to people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. In all, about 12,000 people participated in the AIDS Walk, raising a total of more than $1.1 million.

AAC members Lee Bryan and Sean Selman formed a fund raising team for the event, which included a 10k walk through Midtown, Morningside and Virginia Highlands.

‘It was a big day and a long walk, but it was well worth it,’ Selman said. ‘It was a powerful outpouring of support for people living with HIV/AIDS, and the funds we helped raise really will be used to provide much-needed services in and around Atlanta, so I’m glad we did it. We missed our total fund-raising goal by about $800 but, hopefully, we can do this again in October 2004 and raise even more.’

Anyone who wishes to make a donation can make a check out to AIDS Walk Atlanta, P.O. Box 78187, Atlanta, GA, 30357-9963.
